Housing inventory rises in LA County

May 2, 2025, 10:29 AM

In Los Angeles County in February, there were just under 6,400 homes for sale – a 45 percent increase from the year before, as parts of Los Angeles work on rebuilding following the catastrophic wildfires earlier this year.

That jump was less than the statewide increase of 59 percent year over year, according to data from the California Association of Realtors.

Saugus, where the median home value is $949,900, saw its inventory rise 250 percent, the highest increase within the county.

Two cities saw the number of its listings fall: Acton, by 13.2 percent, and Manhattan Beach, by 8.2 percent.

Buyers are snapping up homes the quickest in West Hollywood. Listings in February were active a median of 16 days there. Properties are lingering the longest on the market in Topanga, where listings were active a median of 165 days last month.
